New German Stuttgart Library: The Future of Library Design?
By LitNews | April 5, 2012 No Comments
Does this building look like the outside of a library to you?
I didn’t think so.
But thanks to korean-born, germany-based architect eun young yi this new cubic facility, influenced by the structure and organization of the ancient pantheon, just may be the future of library architecture – at least in Europe. As featured on Designboom.com, the multi-storied space apparently draws in natural light through the roof.
It’s quite lovely on the inside.
And, yet, it’s just a little to crisp and white for me. I prefer the more traditional libraries; dark and moody on the inside, but very, very comfy.
